I have found that it’s always a good thing to keep a sense of humor in everything I set out to do. This is particularly true if its something that is repetitious and difficult like working out in a gym. I have begun a journey that will prove to be the biggest
challenge of my life. I am a 63 year old grandmother who has
dealt with being overweight most of my adult life. Along with the
weight comes high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
My doctor suggested the lap band surgery as a solution.
Wow, that was a wake -up call for me.
Hanging on the wall in the work-out room of the gym I attend, is a poster with the words “Feel The Power” and underneath are small pictures of football helmets of each NFL team. Of course, I see the significance of that poster, however, there are many different ways to interpret that statement. In reference to my own personal journey those words mean far more than just strength or muscle building.
Getting healthy and fit has many benefits other than the obvious ones that I had never before considered.
